CAPTCHA

CAPTCHA is a program developed to distinguish computers from humans. It protects websites from bots that automatically generate thousands of accounts that overwhelm the site, as well as protecting data. It does this by creating tests that only humans can pass, such as distorted words or pictures. The team that created CAPTCHA in 2000 was composed of Luis von Ahn, Manuel Blum, Nicholas Hopper and John Langford.
