Manuel Blum is a theoretical computer scientist that made waves in the field of technology. He was awarded the 1995 Turing Award for his work and contributions to the computer complexity theory, cryptography, and program checking. Among many other achievements, Blum was a part of the team that created CAPTCHA, a way to tell humans and computers apart on websites.
